Would you like to sell or offer just a part of your course for free? With COACHY, you can easily unlock specific sections of a course for your members.
Customize each access level to specify which chapters and downloadable materials are unlocked and which remain locked.

Here's how it works

By default, all published content of this course is unlocked with access. However, if you only want to unlock certain content, you can configure this in the settings of the respective access under the Content tab.

Go to the settings of your course and select the Access tab.
Select the access through which only certain content of the course should be unlocked and click on Edit.
Click on the Content tab and select choose items from the drop-down menu.
Now you can use a simple checkbox to specify which chapters and downloadable chapters should be unlocked with this access and which should remain locked.

This feature is available from COACHY-Deluxe.

Handle locked content

Additionally, you can determine how the locked content should be displayed to the member. You can find the settings for this under "Handle locked content". You have the following options:

Hide

Only the content that has been unlocked through access is displayed to the member. All other content is not visible.

Show but disabled

The content that has not been unlocked is also displayed to the member in the course overview. These are grayed out and not clickable.

Redirect to the following link

Content that has not been unlocked is still displayed to the member in the course overview with a notice indicating it is locked. By clicking on the chapter or download, the member is redirected to a specific link (e.g., a sales page) set in the access settings.

Application example

With the ability to create unlimited access levels for each course, you can offer various course versions, allowing members to progress through them sequentially. For instance, you can provide a free trial version of your course that unlocks a limited number of chapters. Use a "free access" to restrict the content to what you want to offer for free.

Additionally, you can sell selected chapters at a discounted price, which is ideal for customers who may not want to purchase the entire course immediately, such as recordings of online conferences.

Using the "Redirect to the following link" feature, you can guide users from the trial version to the sales page of your full course. When members attempt to view locked content, they will be redirected to the appropriate sales page.

This sales page can link to an order form for a Digistore24 or Copecart product, which you can set up as another access level for your product. Purchasing this product will then unlock the full course.
