While this comprehensive suite of tools may initially seem enticing, it also entails limitations in flexibility and customization. App

Both COACHY and Kajabi offer an app for your member area. However, the apps differ in execution and customization options.

The Kajabi app must be installed via the App or Play Store. Therefore, the app is branded with the Kajabi brand - not with your own member area. Your members must search for "Kajabi" in the App or Play Store to use the app and download the Kajabi app. To access your member area, your members must first navigate to the app named "Kajabi" (including the Kajabi app icon). Only within the app can members then find your own member area.

This requires some explanation to your customers since they typically do not know (and may not necessarily need to know) that you are operating your member area through Kajabi. After all, your brand and your name are what matters most to your customers - not Kajabi's.

On the other hand, the COACHY app is a web app, meaning it is not available via the App or Play Store. This allows you to completely brand the app with your own brand. You can configure your own name and even your own app icon. Your members can then install the app through the browser on their smartphones. To use the app, your members simply open the app with your individually defined name and app icon.

Integrations

Both Kajabi and COACHY can be integrated with various third-party providers. However, since Kajabi is an American provider, integration options mainly exist for American third-party providers.

For example, for payment processing, you can only integrate Stripe or PayPal with Kajabi. There is no direct integration with European alternatives such as Digistore24 or Copecart. Similarly, for email marketing, you can only integrate with the three American providers MailChimp, Aweber, and ActiveCampaign. This is great if your target audience is only outside the EU but can cost you European customers who need to consider GDPR and are more critical of US providers.

COACHY was originally aimed at the German-speaking market. Therefore, you can integrate German providers with Coachy, which have also adapted to the US market and are on par with pure US providers in terms of functionality.

For payment processing, you have a direct integration with Digistore24 or Copecart, which have been active in the USA for years. They handle invoicing for you as a reseller, making it much easier for you to start your online business.

For email marketing, you have integration options with numerous European providers such as Quentn, KlickTipp, CleverReach, GetResponse, or 4leads. Kajabi does not have a direct integration with any of these mentioned providers. However, Coachy can also be used in the US market, thanks to integrations with Mailchimp and ActiveCampaign.

German vs. American provider

COACHY is a European provider and therefore bound by the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Kajabi, on the other hand, is an American provider but is also committed to and complies with the GDPR.

This issue is also reflected in the integration possibilities. The GDPR issue also applies to these integrations. Therefore, Coachy mainly offers the possibility of integrating European (GDPR-compliant) integrations. Due to European and national legislation, an imprint and privacy policy are mandatory for German website operators - including a member area. Therefore, COACHY offers you an automatic privacy policy and imprint generator, which was developed in cooperation with a German law firm. So you only need to provide a few simple details - and the imprint and privacy policy will be automatically created for you. This can save you a lot of tedious and time-consuming work.

Prices

Price-wise, Coachy and Kajabi also differ quite significantly. The cheapest package from Kajabi starts at $119/month (with annual payment). You can get the cheapest package from Coachy for €35/month (with annual payment), which is about one-third of the cheapest package from Kajabi.

However, Kajabi offers a broader range of features overall as an all-in-one tool (see "Features" section). So if you need all these features and also want to use Kajabi, it might still be worth it for you.

However, keep in mind that you pay for these features whether you actually use them or not. You may not need some of the features at all or may want to use a different provider for certain features that better meet your requirements.
